Orthophotography

Scale-accurate Aerial Photos

Orthophotographs provide a scale-accurate bird’s eye view of a landscape. It combines an aerial photograph's image characteristics with a map's geometric qualities.

Unlike traditional aerial photographs where distortions due to relief displacement or aircraft altitude can affect the preciseness of ground locations, orthophotos are corrected to provide a true image map. This allows for the direct measurement of distances, areas and angles along with detailed features. Used digitally, orthophotography serves as a geometrically accurate base map.

In this example, we’ve taken over 300 digital high resolution photographs of the Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival and stitched them together using our advanced technology.
